چکیده
his work presents the results of study a fragment architectural terracruda sculpture from Buddhist archaeological site Tepe Narenj (Kabul, Afghanistan, fifth-ninth centuries CE) through X-ray micro-computed tomographic analysis. This technique offers great potential for artworks that, due to their nature, condition, or relevance, are not suitable sampling. The have provided useful data understanding making showing first time relevance materials plant origin used in composition clay-based body, feature that had been previously highlighted and which appears be crucial proposing conservation interventions.

X-ray Computed Tomography for Non-Destructive Testing
Several important technological and economic trends are shaping the research on non-destructive testing techniques. They include increasing computerisation and automation, fusion of different NDT methods, new market expansions, use of the techniques as a process control tool, and a proliferation of merges, consolidations and joint ventures. Other important factors such as the development of new...
متن کاملX-ray micro-computed tomography
Micro-computed tomography (μCT) has been successfully used to study the cardiovascular system of mouse embryos in situ. With the use of barium as a suitablecontrast agent, blood vessels have beenimaged and analysed quantitatively such asblood volume and vessel sizes on embryosof ages 14.5 to 16.5 days old. The advantageof using this imaging modality is that it hasprovide...
متن کاملNon-destructive PCB Reverse Engineering Using X-ray Micro Computed Tomography
Reverse engineering of electronics systems is performed for various reasons ranging from honest ones such as failure analysis, fault isolation, trustworthiness verification, obsolescence management, etc. to dishonest ones such as cloning, counterfeiting, identification of vulnerabilities, development of attacks, etc. Regardless of the goal, it is imperative that the research community understan...
متن کاملImpact of Photon Spectra on the Sensitivity of Polymer Gel Dosimetry by X-Ray Computed Tomography
Introduction: The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effect of X-ray spectra on the sensitivity of a polymer gel dosimeter imaged with a conventional computed tomography (CT) scanner. Material and Methods: The whole process of CT imaging of an irradiated polymer gel was simulated by MCNPX Monte Carlo (MC) code. The imaging of polyacrylamide gel was accomplished by means of a co...
متن کاملComparison of phase contrast X-ray computed tomography methods for non-destructive testing of materials
Currently the basis for standard X-ray computed tomography (CT) is absorption. A volumetric map of a specimen in three dimensions is generated from a set of absorption radiographs. The contrast of details strongly depends on a difference in absorption coefficient between the detail and the environment. However, when the absorption difference is low, sufficient contrast for a good quality X-ray ...
